On Monday we had the privilege of our first sighting of a magnificent Secretary Bird on the Draaifontein Eco Reserve. It was truly magnificent. The wing span was enormous and so elegant. I haven't seen one since I was a kid when we visited to Kruger National Park, and back then they always seemed so clumsy.

I'm afraid this image is not mine, as, when I got my phone out my bag to snap a picture, it was too late. Credit of this photo goes to https://ebird.org/ - whom I hope don't mind me using it for this post.
