As the light slips behind the clouds, Jocks Cottage rests quietly beside the dam, embraced by the soft shadows of clouds coveringthe sky.. A moment of stillness, where time seems to slow and the countryside whispers its invitation to simply be. ✨

The veld is dry, and we wait in hope for the blessing of rain — for the earth to drink deeply and the landscape to awaken in shades of green once more. 🌿

Until then, there is beauty in the quiet, magic in the moment, and something truly special about a place where you can pause, breathe, and let the world fall away.

There is something both scary and beautiful about a veldfire seen from a distance at night. 🔥

After the first rains of the season, controlled burns are often carried out to clear the old grass and prepare the grazing fields for fresh growth for the season ahead.

From Jocks, we watched the warm orange glow of the fire dancing across the horizon, with its beautiful reflection shimmering on Jocks Dam. A reminder that even in nature’s most dramatic moments, there can be unexpected beauty. 🌿✨

By Jocks Cottages is luuksheid nie net 'n pragtige kothuis of 'n warm kaggel nie.
