𝗨𝗙𝗛 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟯,𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸

The University of Fort Hare (UFH) will confer qualifications on 3,646 graduands during its 2026 Autumn Graduation week-long ceremonies commencing today, 4 May, celebrating academic achievements and the journeys they took to get here.

This year’s cohort reflects the breadth and depth of the University’s academic offering, with 1,106 postgraduate and 2,540 undergraduate qualifications set to be awarded.

Beyond the numbers lies a powerful collection of human stories that embody the spirit of Fort Hare Excellence!

Among the cohort is a teenage graduand, just 19 years old, who will receive a degree in Health Sciences and has already progressed into postgraduate study, demonstrating academic excellence at an early age.

At the highest level of scholarship, one of the youngest doctoral graduates, aged 27, will be awarded a PhD in Agricultural Economics.

In contrast, the University will also confer a doctoral degree upon a 72-year-old graduand in the field of Education.
