Soulmate by the Sea is the name of our beautiful 3 storey home situated below Elsies Peak, just outside Fish Hoek, South Africa, which is 30mins from Cape Town central. The apartment is on the first floor, with its own private entrance. Peace and tranquillity in our neighbourhood makes this apartment perfect for those wishing to escape the city bustle but close enough to engage in the wonders of w

hat Cape Town has to offer. The apartment consists of the following:
Bedrooms:
2 bedrooms, one with a double size bed, the other with 2 single beds - suitable for a couple and children (sorry, no children younger than 10 years of age) or a couple on their own. Superior cotton linen and towels. Both rooms with breathtaking sea views. Hotel grade mattresses. Bathroom:
Modern bathroom, with seamless glass shower, toilet and basin. Kitchen:
An open plan kitchen with microwave, 2 plate stove, fridge, and supporting electrical kitchen devices, opens onto a dining area and stylishly furnished lounge area with panoramic views of False Bay. Outside patio:
A place to relax and take in the views while sipping a sundowner or watching the moon rise over the bay. Splash Pool:
Guests have access to the splash pool, a private area ideal for taking a dip on our hot African days. House rule: low levels of noise and no smoking inside the apartment

It’s been a while since we made a post but oh boy have things got busy with travellers from around the globe sharing our beautiful space, so happy to be hosting again! Today the mist rolled in through the valley and our guests got to experience being above the clouds ⛅️

It’s been a quiet time at Soulmate by the sea since the world came to its knees. No travelers sharing our precious space. And while I’ve missed all the new faces, I have enjoyed the peace and quiet and the many beautiful sunrises from this home that is my sanctity.

It’s been a very busy half a year with guests coming and going and the household coming and going all over the world! Glad to have time to enjoy the local sand artwork on Fish Hoek beach.

We have a new addition to the family, Toulouse, who prefers owner of Soulmate by the sea, Lesley Rochat not to do admin in her office and rather spend more time in the ocean.

Water is precious, and very scarce as the drought drags on to possible day Zero in Cape Town, a time when we will have line up for water. At Soulmate we are serious about our guests sticking to 2min showers, and hope they take us seriously. Beauty of a wooden house is that we hear the taps running and know which of our guests care about helping us save our last drops.
No better than local comedian to make light of this very serious situation, take a look at the lighter side, though this is really how it is:

It was a busy time at Soulmate by the sea this past weekend, a full apartment and a full house when owner Lesley Rochat hosted a 'Dinner Party with a Difference' with a touch of madness for her birthday celebration. The theme all began when previous guests Camilla M. Pallett Dave and John Pallet motivated a dinner party where guests join in to do the cooking. Now guests have to bring their aprons and the hostess does NO cooking - although she can still be seen cleaning up till 3am (though no one ever sees her since they're sleeping)! Dinner parties at Soulmate by the Sea are never dull!
