After nearly a decade without its own fire engine, the Lonehill Fire Station has finally received a brand-new fire truck.

For close to 9–10 years, the station often had to rely on neighbouring stations to respond to emergencies due to equipment shortages. With the arrival of this new engine, Lonehill firefighters can now operate at full capacity and respond faster to fires and other emergencies in our area.

Despite years of resource constraints, the station’s team has continued serving the community with dedication. This new addition is a major boost for local emergency response and safety.

A big step forward for the Lonehill community.

Calling all dads!

Bring your kids (boys and girls) for our much-loved annual campout at the Lonehill Koppie. Numbers are limited, so early booking is essential.

To secure your spot, contact Bev at (011) 465 9196 or [email protected] with the number of attendees. Booking and indemnity forms will be sent to you directly. We have space for 120 kids and 80 dads, and enquiries are already coming in.

When: Saturday afternoon, 21 March – Sunday morning, 22 March (after breakfast)

Cost: R120 per dad | R140 per child

Expect goody bags for the kids thanks to Pam Golding Properties, boerewors rolls for dinner, marshmallows around the fire, and a hearty bacon and egg roll breakfast. Special thanks to Danie and the Country Meat team for their continued sponsorship and hands-on support.

There is no Wi-Fi in the Koppie, but you will never find better connections!

Personal income tax brackets will be adjusted for inflation to help households, and limits for tax-free savings and retirement contributions will increase to encourage more saving. Small businesses will also benefit from a higher VAT registration threshold and more tax relief when selling. However, prices on alcohol, to***co and fuel will go up from 1 April due to inflation-linked tax increases.
