Learning Hub is a nonprofit organisation focusing on teaching teachers. Their donor funding is focussed on just that. BUT they need donations towards landscaping, following their investment on the recent classroom additions, to prettify this landmark structure to the entrance of Hermanus (Old Synagogue opposite the court). We have donated and planted 3 pots for their pergola'd patio and would like to challenge all local businesses to contribute something small toward the vast bare landscape. In a house of glass, the views of the landscape are its "wallpaper." Architect Philip Johnson once remarked, "I have very expensive wallpaper." Located in New Canaan, Connecticut, the Glass House was designed in the late 1940s by Johnson as his own residence. The house is an example of early use of industrial materials in home design, namely charcoal-painted steel and glass. The Glass House rejects historical ideas of home design in favor of a minimalist structure, rigid geometry, and an embrace of transparency and reflection.
