Fading Currents
Each day begins, a spark that fades,
A weary sun, in listless shades.
My smile’s a mask, a practiced art,
But shadows linger in my heart.
The circles ‘neath my eyes betray,
A truth I hide, a slow decay.
My body moves, though weighted down,
A ghost adrift through noise and sound.
The simplest tasks, a mountain steep,
The shower’s warmth can make me weep.
A bite of food feels like a chore,
As silence greets the world I bore.
How long can I sustain this fight?
A dimming flame, yet seeking light.
