A LITTLE ROSE GARDEN MAGIC AWAITS AT GARLINGTON THIS WEEKEND

Tucked away in the heart of Garlington Estate, the Heritage Rose Garden is a truly special place where the timeless beauty of roses meets the tranquility of a garden lovingly nurtured with care.

At its heart stands a charming white gazebo, surrounded by beautiful rose beds, colourful cottage-garden flowers and peaceful green lawns. From the abundance of roses in shades of pink, white and crimson to the delicate blooms dancing in the breeze, every corner offers something to admire — and a picture-perfect moment to treasure.

This beautiful garden is a labour of love, lovingly cared for by a dedicated group of ladies whose passion and hard work keep it looking so wonderful. It is a place to slow down, breathe in the fragrance of the roses, wander among the blooms and appreciate the simple magic of nature.

And this weekend, you are invited to experience it for yourself!

As part of Blackwood’s Open Midlands Gardens, the Heritage Rose Garden will be opening its gates to visitors for two special days. Whether you are a passionate gardener, a rose lover, a keen photographer or simply looking for a beautiful way to spend a spring morning, this is a garden well worth discovering.

Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October
9am – 4pm
Entrance: R10 per person

Rose calendars, seeds, rose bushes and plants will also be available to purchase. This is a lovely opportunity to take a little piece of the garden home with you!

Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of welcoming residents to our Harvest Table & W**e Tasting, an afternoon thoughtfully curated to celebrate exceptional food, fine wines and the simple pleasure of sharing them together.

Set against the beautiful Midlands landscape, guests explored a carefully selected range of wines while enjoying a harvest table created by The Garlington Bistro, featuring fresh seasonal produce, speciality foods and artisan ingredients supplied by Pick n Pay The Avenues. Their collaboration helped bring the afternoon to life, while the relaxed sounds of Afritude provided the perfect accompaniment.

One of the greatest pleasures of estate living is the opportunity to gather, share and enjoy occasions like these with friends and neighbours.

Our sincere thanks to The Garlington Bistro and Pick n Pay The Avenues for their partnership, generosity and commitment to making the afternoon such a success.

Most importantly, thank you to every resident who joined us. We are grateful that you chose to spend your Sunday with us, and we look forward to welcoming you to many more Garlington gatherings.

Last night's Harvest & Home Market was held under one of those Garlington sunsets that stops us in our tracks.

Residents came along to pick up freshly baked sourdough breads, pizza bases, homemade rusks, beautiful homeware and gift items, as well as farm-fresh eggs and locally sourced mutton.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support our vendors. It was a lovely way to spend a winter evening.

Our furry family members were truly spoilt with a day of pampering, wellness checks and their annual vaccinations thanks to the wonderful team from the uMngeni SPCA. 🐾💙

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this special initiative and helped make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
