MYTH #3
"ESTATE AGENTS ARE OVERPAID"
Estate agents do not earn a fixed income. Their entire livelihood is dependent on commission and NO SALE = NO SALARY.
Therefore, whilst there is certainly the opportunity to earn well, there is also the very real possibility of earning nothing at all.
It is also worth noting that until the deal is closed, real estate agents work free-of-charge. This means that the considerable amount of time, money and effort spent on marketing, promoting, and showing the property can only be recovered IF the property sells.
It takes a lot of long hours and personal sacrifice to achieve success, and agents who build a lucrative career do so on their own hard work and tenacity.
You call it overpaid. We call it underappreciated.
