Being a twin mom has taught me a few things about working in property 😂
Firstly, you learn very quickly that no two people are ever the same.
I have two daughters the same age, raised in the same house, with the same parents, and yet they can be completely different.
And you know what?
Property is a lot like that.
No two buyers are the same.
No two sellers are the same.
And no two homes are the same.
One family might be looking for a big garden because their children need space to run around. Another might see that same garden as hours of maintenance they simply don’t want.
One buyer falls in love with the character of an older home. Another walks through it and sees a list of renovations.
One seller wants the highest possible price. Another is more concerned about timing and getting the next chapter started.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
Being a mom has taught me to listen, to negotiate, to think on my feet and to keep calm when things get chaotic. Most importantly, it has taught me that sometimes you need to stop talking and really listen to what the person in front of you is saying 😉
Working in property has taught me pretty much the same thing.
People don’t just buy and sell houses.
They make decisions that affect their lives.
So yes, I am a property practitioner.
But I am also a twin mom, a hockey mom, a taxi service, a cheerleader, a problem solver, a researcher, a dog mom and occasionally the referee between two teenage sisters 😂
Perhaps all these things make me a better property practitioner.
Because at the end of the day, property is about people.
And I really like people ❤️
