BUDGET AND REPORTING CLERK
Salary Scale: R132 243.57-R171 667.63 (T6)
Applicable Benefits: Medical Aid, pension, 13th cheque, homeowner’s allowance

Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• 2 years’ experience in financial environment, preferably in a budget environment
• Knowledge of registered financial system will be an added advantage
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Knowledge of GRAP standards
• Understanding of budgetary process
• Knowledge of MFMA and Treasury Regulations

Key Performance Areas
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Compile financial reports for submission to Budget Accountant
• Assistant in preparation of quarterly returns
• Assist in preparation and submission of monthly budget reports
• Undertake duties under the supervision and guidance of the Budget Accountant
• Assist with implementation of MSCOA
• Prepare grant reconciliation
• Assist in compilation of Annual Financial Statements
• Maintain financial systems and internal control measures
• Assist in compilation of annual financial statements
• Finalise the compilation of the annual and adjustment budget and attend to audit queries
• Ensuring that Back to Basics items are accurate and submitted timeously
• Prepare VAT, Investment and Grant Reconciliations
• Submit monthly and quarterly reports to Provincial and National Treasury and other stakeholders
• Compile financial reports for submission to management

PMU TRAINEE
18 Months Fixed Term Contract
Stipend: R5 000.00 Per Month
No municipal benefits will apply (pension, medical aid, etc.) and applicants are required to make their own arrangements in respect thereof.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree /National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Knowledge of Project Management and Rural Development
• Knowledge of Municipal Legislation
• Computer Literacy
• Valid code EB Driver’s license

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Provide support to Project Management Technicians
• Assist in project monitoring and evaluation
• Assist in preparing project progress reports
• Assist in conducting site meetings with relevant stakeholders

TOWN PLANNER TRAINEE (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)
18 Months Fixed Term Contract

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Town Planning /Town and Regional Planning
• The ability to operate a personal computer, utilise word processing programs and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• The ability to create, revise, edit and produce documents with particular regard to accuracy, quality and given instructions
• Time management skills
• Basic research skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Provide assistance in terms of all submitted statutory planning permit applications.
• Compile documentation (under instructions and direction of the Planner and Junior Town Planner) to assist in the preparation of planning reports and other planning unit work.
• Maintain an adequate filing system for the planning and building inspectorate units.
• Provide clerical, scheduling and administration support to senior officials of the unit as required in consultation with the Supervisor.
• Provide administration assistance in the delivery of Council sustainable projects as required.
• Ensure delivery of the functions and tasks within the municipality as required.
• Exercise confidentiality in all processes and communication associated with the job.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

GENERAL ASSISTANT: GRASS CUTTER
SALARY SCALE: R104 948.58 – R108 928.85 Per Annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Preferably Grade 10 or Adult Basic Education Training (ABET)
• Willingness to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime
• Be physically fit and able bodied.
• Must be willing to undergo practical test.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Cutting and trimming lawns, verges and shrubs.
• Using relevant hand held machines (brush cutter, lawnmowers) and tools (shears, lashers) for the clearing of overgrown shrubs.
• Weeding, cleaning and shaping flower beds using hand held gardening tools.
• Picking up litter and items lying in open spaces.
• Removing and replacing refuse bags from collection bins in public areas.
• Cleaning equipment (brush cutters, compactors, and lawnmowers), using specific cleaning aides (brush), and replacing nylon cutting lines and attending to the loading and offloading of refuse bags, materials and garden refuse into and from vehicles.

FINANCE TRAINEE
(Fixed Term 18 Month Contract)

STIPEND: R5 000.00 Per Month

• Assist in responding to other bookkeeping needs for activity and budget funds as may be required.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and administrators.
• Follow policies and administrative rules and regulations of the municipality.
• Maintain behavior appropriate to performing and accomplishing assigned duties.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
