While it would be great to lose 30 kilograms, get out of debt, and get a new career that pays twice your salary this year, you do want to make sure that any resolutions you set are ones you can accomplish in twelve months. So instead of setting a huge goal that involves many steps, work on framing your resolutions as smaller goals that can be accomplished reasonably.

Ideas:

I will replace my night-time snack of a bowl of ice cream with sugar free pudding.
I will pay R100 a week towards my smallest debt.
I will revise my resume and then begin to look online for available careers in my skill set.

One of my favorite scriptures that I live by. Psalm 138:8 “The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”

Sometimes all we can do is lift our hands in surrender to God and trust that He will fulfill His purpose for our lives, why because His love towards us endures forever and ever! God will perfect that which concerns us. The Bible tells us that God will fight the battles on our behalf. He will vindicate us.

Keep the Faith and focus on Hope.

During this last two years we can surely all list things we went through that was tough and hard, so many of us have experienced loss and death, grief and sorrow.

The only way to get though this is to cling to Hope!

Let’s keep looking up.

Resolutions that aren’t written down are destined to fail quickly. So write them out, and not just anywhere. Keep your list of goals in a place where you will see them regularly, so you can review your progress and recommit on a consistent basis.
Ideas:
Tape your goals to your bathroom mirror where you’ll see them first and last thing every day.
For goals that require some accountability for success, affix them to your fridge. Just make sure they’re ones you don’t mind your kids asking about because ask they will.
Take a photo of your resolutions and post them as your computer screensaver or as your smart phone wallpaper.

I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Even in difficult times, God knows the plans He has for us. Plans to proser us and not to harm us, let’s keep our focus on this as we prepare for new possibilities and outcomes in 2022.
