Some property related take outs from last week's Budget Speech

Adjustments that bring some welcome relief to investors...

-Personal tax rates were adjusted for inflation, resulting in reduction of income tax payable... unless your income grew by the same inflation figure..

-The brackets of the transfer duty tables have also been increased;
-properties below R1.1 million will not pay any transfer duty (previously R1.0m).
-the remaining Transfer Duty scales have been adjusted for inflation, thereby reducing transfer duty on property purchases.

-Company tax remained 27% (reduced from 28% in 2022)

-Solar : (Individuals who install rooftop solar panels from 1 March 2023 will be able to claim a rebate of 25 per cent of the cost of the panels, up to a maximum of R15 000. This can be used to reduce their tax liability in the 2023/24 tax year. This incentive will be available for one year.
