With the RHS Chelsea Flower Show about to open again in London, I found myself reflecting on a visit last September to Stanford, where the 2025 gold-winning South African Chelsea Flower Show display was beautifully recreated as part of Stanford in Bloom.

Hearing the story behind the design from Leon Kluge gave deeper meaning to what you’re seeing — a landscape translated into art, shaped by memory, detail, and a deep connection to place.

What makes Stanford so unique is how creativity extends beyond the main installation, with the town itself expressing imagination through floral interpretations and installations that celebrate the spirit of the Cape.

From world-class floral design to local creative expression, everything feels connected by the same thread: nature, identity, and storytelling through landscape.

The Cove Hiking Trail – My Favourite Escape 🌊

The Cove Hiking Trail at Pezula Private Estate is my absolute favourite, offering one of the most breathtaking views of The Cove. The trail winds through indigenous Keurboom trees and along a gentle stream, transitions into pristine fynbos, and descends through an enchanting forest to the secluded Cove beach. Once there, you can choose to take a refreshing swim or explore rock pools teeming with sea life. If swimming isn’t your thing, a leisurely walk amid the rugged, orange lichen rock formations will leave you in awe—creating a truly otherworldly experience. 🌊✨

Every time I walk this trail, I’m reminded of how special this place is. Nothing comes close.
