Pezula Private Estate hosted its very first Organic Market Day on 6 March 2026, at The Nursery/Potagers Garden, a joyful celebration of community and estate organic living.

Homeowners gathered for a relaxed morning enjoying freshly baked roosterkoek, artisan moerkoffie, and handpicked organic vegetables straight from our Potagers Garden.

Guests browsed and purchased locally sourced treasures including Montpellier Wine Estate olive oil, Organic Wellness Mellowly Tea, artisan breads, honey, marmalades, and homemade jams.

Renowned horticulturist Nanna Joubert inspired us all with her environmental talk, highlighting the importance of indigenous plant species.

We shared a morning of great community spirit and honored nature’s abundance.

Carols by Candlelight - 19 December 2025

Our very first Carols by Candlelight was a heartwarming success! Homeowners came together in true community spirit, singing along to beloved Christmas melodies and enjoying a magical visit from Father Christmas. A special thank you to Johanita Henning, our Estate Manager, for the beautiful flower/table decorations that made the night even more enchanting.

We officially kicked off our 2025 events season in October 2025 with a series of memorable experiences.

On 31 October, we hosted an exclusive wine tasting on our Field of Dreams, featuring award-winning wines from Cederberg and Ghostcorner, beautifully presented by winemaker Gwen Marais.

The magic continued on 1 November at Alkira Lodge with a Music Evening — a breathtaking concert by José Dias & The Selene Quartet, joined by the incredible Zanelle Brits.

On 12 December, we proudly hosted our very first Carols by Candlelight, an evening filled with festive cheer and a wonderful sense of positive community spirit.

Currently, the King Proteas are in full bloom and are showing off their beautiful, large flowers with much pride. This flowering plant is a distinctive member of Protea, having the largest flower head in the genus. The species is also known as giant protea, honeypot, or king sugar bush. It is widely distributed in the fynbos region of South Africa, that is, in the southwestern and southern parts of Western Cape. The king protea is also the national flower of South Africa.

It's with great anticipation that we waited for our young Bontebok calves to arrive. On Sunday the 14th of September, our first little one arrived. Healthy, drinking, and sticking to moms side.

Our Coral Trees
It's spring, and a few things stand out on the estate. One of them are the beautiful coastal coral tree (Erythrina caffra) and are well-known for their striking red flowers.

As you might have noticed, the coral trees flower first before their leaves appear. This is an adaptation by the tree to maximize pollination by birds and insects, who are attracted to the abundant nectar in the striking red flowers. Flowering before the leaves helps the vibrant blossoms stand out. In nature, survival is key. This creates a space to attract pollinators and converses the tree's energy, allowing it to produce its flowers and set seeds before the energy-intensive growth of the new foliage begins.
