Not every setting-out job needs a fancy instrument. Sometimes it’s a hammer, a bundle of stakes, some duct tape… and knowing exactly where that level needs to be.

For earthworks, this is still one of the simplest and most practical methods of setting and transferring levels on site.

No glamour.
No fancy equipment.
Just a surveyor, a few stakes, and getting the job right.

Surveying is about knowing what to use - not just what you have.
