Nature always finds a way... and so do we. 🌿🦌

After the devastation of the flood, every new day reminds us that hope is alive.

Watching these beautiful springboks running, hopping and playing freely along the riverbank is a powerful reminder that life returns, healing happens, and nature continues to inspire us.

The Breede River is once again telling a story of renewal. Birds are singing, wildlife is thriving, and the peaceful beauty that makes Harvest Moon Sanctuary so special is slowly embracing us once more.

Thank you to everyone who has walked this journey with us, supported us, and believed that brighter days were ahead. Your kindness has carried us through.

We look forward to welcoming you back to create new memories, share unforgettable sunsets, and experience the magic of the river once again.

🌊 Harvest Moon Sanctuary Flood Recap 🌊

Well… if the Lower Breede River flood taught us anything, it’s that Mother Nature definitely had the final say last week! Between rising waters, emergency floaties, confused wildlife, and enough mud to start a pottery business, Harvest Moon Sanctuary has certainly had an adventure.

The sanctuary weathered the storm with true Breede River spirit — a little wet, a little tired, but still standing strong. Our resident animals kept us entertained through it all, with some looking far too calm while the humans ran around wondering where the gumboots disappeared to. 🦌🚣‍♂️

While cleanup and recovery are underway, we are incredibly grateful for the support, messages, helping hands, and community spirit shown during this time. Floods may leave a mess behind, but they also remind us how resilient and connected our little river community really is.

The good news?
The waters are slowly settling, the skies are clearing, and Harvest Moon Sanctuary will bounce back greener, stronger, and more beautiful than ever. Nature has a remarkable way of renewing itself — and so do we. 🌿✨

There’s still plenty happening behind the scenes as we restore, rebuild, and make everything safe and welcoming again. We’ll continue sharing updates, progress photos, and a few laughs along the way.

For now:
🛶 The ducks are thriving
🐢 The turtles remain unbothered
🦌 The buck are supervising operations
☕ And coffee consumption is at record-breaking levels
