💥The kykNET Buite Ekspo was held from March 7 to 9, 2025, at Môreson Farm near Malmesbury, attracting thousands of visitors for a weekend filled with adventure, family entertainment, and local talent. 🎺🎸🎨🎼
🐒The Honorary Rangers from the Boland region also set up their gazebo, staffed by friendly volunteers dedicated to promoting wildlife conservation.
I am proud to have participated in raising awareness for wildlife preservation. Their involvement added a valuable educational dimension to the event, encouraging visitors to engage with and support local wildlife initiatives 🫎🐅🐘🦒
Marius Opperman from Trio Events, the event organizer, shared that this year's expo was a remarkable success and remains one of the premier outdoor events on the calendar for the Swartland region and beyond ❗️

Die VLV Landbouvereniging vergadering het weer afgeskop vir 2025❗ 😊💚
Wat 'n wonderlike oggend was dit, vol lag en geselskap met die wonderlike vrouens van Malmesbury.
Die samekoms was weer by die pragtige Myrtledene! 🌳
Die mooi dammetjie en die voeltjies in die bome skep altyd 'n gesellige atmosfeer.
Hendrik de K**k het ons meer vertel oor die gebruik van hommeltuie in die boerdery en 'n indrukwekkende demonstrasie gegee. Ons was opgewonde oor die nuutste tegnologie!
❤️Aangesien Februarie die maand van liefde is, was die tafels, soos altyd, pragtig versier met hartboompies en 'n oorvloedige fees van kos.

The VLV Landbou Association meeting has kicked off again for 2025❗😊💚
What a wonderful morning it was, filled with laughter and conversation with the amazing women of Malmesbury.
The gathering was once again held at the beautiful Myrtledene! 🌳 The lovely little dam and the birds in the trees always create a cozy atmosphere.
Hendrik de K**k told us more about the use of drones in farming and gave an impressive demonstration. We were excited about the latest technology!
❤️Since February is the month of love, the tables were, as always, beautifully decorated with heart shapes and an abundance of food.
The VLV women are truly top chefs!

🌟 What a fantastic morning I had today! 🌟 It truly warmed my heart to hear the incredible stories shared by our beloved long-time residents of Malmesbury.
Their memories are priceless treasures! ❤️
We launched the Oral History Project for Swartland, and it was such a wonderful experience. It was inspiring to witness the dedication of the Swartland Libraries and the Cultural Affairs and Sport department of the Western Cape Government. This initiative aims to document and preserve our community's rich oral history, ensuring that essential pieces of our local past are passed down through generations.
📜 Fun fact: Did you know that the first farms in Malmesbury were allocated back in 1703? When the fifth Dutch Reformed congregation in the Cape was established here, it was originally called Zwartlands-kerk (Swartland Church) but was renamed Malmesbury in 1829. And the town proudly gained municipal status in 1860! 🏛️

🌟 Thrilled to be part of the thriving Malmesbury Chamber of Commerce! It's truly heartwarming to witness our community flourishing and actively nurturing connections through our monthly meetings. This month, we gathered at the wonderful Malmesbury Museum, enriching our agenda with a vibrant cultural experience.

📍 The museum offers a compelling glimpse into Malmesbury's rich history while showcasing the stunning architecture of its building, originally a Jewish synagogue crafted by the talented Max Goldman in 1911.
🕰️ Since its official opening in 1991, , the museum has evolved into a treasure trove of local history—a must-visit destination for both residents and visitors alike. The fascinating displays, including medical and dental artifacts donated by the local hospital and the family of Dr. George Hofmeyer van Zyl, beautifully connect our past to the present.

🍽️ Don’t miss the charming 1920s kitchen and the recreated General Dealers shop! These exhibits evoke nostalgia for older generations while sparking curiosity in our youth. And make sure to check out the stunning clothing collection—especially the striking black wedding dress, which beautifully represents our town's traditions and heritage.
