Residents, businesses and visitors are advised that the Garden Route Triathlon will take place in Mossel Bay on Sunday, 20 September 2026, as part of the Municipality's Sport & Recreation Festival programme. The event will bring athletes from across South Africa to our town to compete in swimming, cycling and running disciplines, with Santos Beach serving as the start and finish venue.
While the event promises a fantastic spectacle for participants and spectators alike, it will also have a notable impact on traffic movement in parts of Mossel Bay, Hartenbos and Great Brak River. Residents are therefore encouraged to familiarise themselves with the route and begin planning ahead for Sunday.

* Swimming activities associated with the event are expected to take place between approximately 07:30 and 11:00.
* The Santos Beach start and finish precinct will be closed from 05:30 until approximately 16:30.
* Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the event.
