Sharing the Festive Cheer 🎄

This season, Val de Vie Estate residents helped spread festive cheer to vulnerable children and families in our community.

Through thoughtful Christmas gifts and heartfelt hospital visits, they presented hand-knitted comfort dolls to the children in the paediatric ward at Paarl Hospital as a gesture of kindness and care and supported a fun-filled Christmas party at Huis Andrew Murray, bringing smiles to the children as each received a beautifully wrapped present.

In October, Mosaic Community Developments inspired and guided over 100 vulnerable children through an impactful Anti-Gangsterism Awareness workshop. In collaboration with SAPS Wellington, the session encouraged young people to make positive choices and identify risky influences.

Maxwell’s courageous testimony as a reformed ex-gangster made a lasting impression, demonstrating that change is possible regardless of one’s past.

Blooming Success 🪻🐝🌿

The Prize-giving Ceremony for the 5th annual Val de Vie Estate Garden of the Year Competition, in partnership with , took place over the weekend. Residents gathered on the lawn overlooking the Estate’s biodiversity corridor as the winners were announced at the home of Herman and Annie Kriel, who won the title last year.

For the first time in the competition’s history, the Overall Garden of the Year was awarded to a Val de Vie Evergreen finalist. Congratulations to Des and Charmaine Gower for taking home the grand prize, which includes a R60 000 investment portfolio with Brenthurst Wealth.

This year also introduced the Open Gardens concept, allowing residents to explore the finalists’ gardens and cast their vote online. It offered an excellent opportunity to see a variety of styles and ideas and was well-received by visitors.

The grand prize was sponsored by Brenthurst Wealth, with additional prizes from Price & Sons, Adene’s Farm Flowers, 2Green Garden & Landscaping Services and D’Vine Nursery.
