🚨 SARB INTEREST RATE UPDATE: Prime Rate Increases to 10.50% 🚨
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has announced a 25 basis point increase to the interest rate.

While many were hoping for a steady period or rate cuts this year, global oil pressures and rising domestic inflation have forced the central bank to make a pre-emptive move to protect the economy.

What are the new rates?

🔹 Repo Rate: Up from 6.75% to 7.00%

🔹 Prime Lending Rate: Up from 10.25% to 10.50%

What does this mean for your pocket?
If you have a home loan, vehicle finance, or credit facilities linked to the prime rate, your monthly repayments will increase slightly from May 2026.
