Signing an Offer to Purchase is so exciting, but the months between signing and getting your keys can be a bit of a minefield! 🔑

Here are a few quick things to keep in mind so you do not get caught off guard:

1. Hold off on big buys: Resist buying new furniture or appliances until you know all your final transfer and moving costs.
2. Do not panic if transfer takes time: Delays are very normal with conveyancers and municipal clearances. It does not mean the deal is falling through.
3. Know where your deposit sits: Check your agreement to ensure your hard-earned deposit is earning interest for you while you wait.
4. Give yourself a financial cushion: Leave room for rates, levies, and initial home upkeep so you do not feel stretched in your first month.
