Happy Easter weekend.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a restful and enjoyable short break. May this time provide you with an opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend meaningful time with your loved ones.

Please be advised that the residence office will be closed on Friday and will reopen on Tuesday. Should you be planning to leave the residence during this period, kindly ensure that you collect your leaving note while the office is still open. Alternatively, you may liaise with your RSA or PRIM for assistance in this regard.

As many of you will be travelling, we strongly encourage you to prioritise your safety at all times. Please travel safely, remain vigilant, and make responsible decisions throughout the weekend. It is also important that you keep those around you informed of your whereabouts, especially for students who will not be going home, to ensure your safety and well-being.
We trust that you will act responsibly and look out for one another during this period.

Wishing you a safe and pleasant Easter break.

Laboria Student Residence proudly congratulates our outstanding students, Phenyo Lapane, Thando Simkana, and Olwam Yali, who represented us at the Nelson Mandela University Multilingual Debate 2026.

They achieved a remarkable victory by winning Best Team in the English Category. We are also proud of Olwam Yali, our current RSA, who was awarded Top Speaker in the category.
Indeed, Laboria continues to produce exceptional leaders. We are immensely proud of you all and wish you many more successes ahead. πŸ₯³πŸ”₯πŸ’™

LABORIA STUDENT RESIDENCE STANDS AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE (GBV)

Laboria Student Residence firmly supports the call for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to be declared a National Disaster.

GBV continues to destroy lives, families, and communities across our nation. As a residence community, we stand in solidarity with all victims and survivors of violence and call for urgent, coordinated action from government, institutions, and society to end this crisis.

We encourage all residents to actively participate in awareness initiatives, report incidents of violence or abuse, and support one another in creating a safe and respectful living environment for all.

Together, let’s break the silence and take a stand against GBV.
