✨ Women Connecting, Growing and Inspiring ✨

Yesterday morning’s first official SACBW gathering in Port Elizabeth was such a lovely experience. The event was beautifully organised, and guest speaker Candice Parker left us feeling motivated and inspired.

It was wonderful connecting with so many amazing women, and I look forward to being part of this exciting journey.

One of the many reasons I love calling Seaview home. Yesterday's walk along the beach was the perfect reminder of the beauty right on our doorstep. Two shadows, one journey, and an endless coastline. Sometimes, the simplest moments become the ones we treasure most.

🏑 One of the biggest mistakes I see homeowners make before selling has nothing to do with their home... it's the decisions they make before it even goes on the market.

A few simple choices can mean the difference between selling quickly at a great price or sitting on the market for months.

In 2024, my family and I faced a challenge that many people relocating to Port Elizabeth know all too well...

Where do you choose to live when you don't know the area?

After months of research, countless hours online, and exploring suburb after suburb, we eventually found Seaview.

Today, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

Here's our story...

In 2024, we made the decision to move to Port Elizabeth. What should have been an exciting new chapter quickly became a little overwhelming. We knew very little about the different suburbs, didn't know where we wanted to live, and had no trusted local person to turn to for advice. Like most people relocating to a new city, we spent hours researching online, reading reviews, scrolling through maps, and trying to work out where we would fit in. We weren't just looking for a house, we were looking for a place where we could feel at home, build a life, and become part of a community.

Then, during our search, we found Seaview. It wasn't something we could explain with statistics or property prices. It was simply a feeling that this place was different. The ocean stretched endlessly before us, the pace of life felt calmer, and there was a warmth about the area that immediately made us feel welcome.

Sometimes you can't explain why a place feels right, you just know. The more time we spent here, the more we fell in love with it. Seaview has a unique way of making people feel like they belong. Neighbours greet one another, people stop to chat, and there is a genuine sense of community that is becoming harder to find these days. We loved that we could enjoy the peace and beauty of coastal living while still having local shops, restaurants, and everyday conveniences close by.

Today, when I walk along the beach, watch another breathtaking sunset, or enjoy a meal or coffee at one of our local restaurants, I am reminded why we chose this community. There is something special about living in a place where people still look out for one another and where newcomers are welcomed with open arms. It is a lifestyle that allows you to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and truly feel at home.

Looking back, I often think about how much easier our journey would have been if we had someone who knew the area and could share their honest experience with us. Someone who could tell us what it was really like to live here, beyond what we could find online.

Now that Seaview is home, I understand why so many people fall in love with this little coastal community.
Experiences like these remind me that a home is about so much more than bricks and mortar. It's about finding a place where you feel comfortable, connected, and able to build the life you want.

🏑 SELL FIRST OR BUY FIRST? πŸ€”

This is one of the most common questions I get from homeowners who are planning their next move.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. The right decision depends on your financial situation, the current property market, and your long-term plans.

Should you:
βœ… Sell first and know exactly what you have available to spend?
βœ… Buy first and secure your dream home before it slips away?
βœ… Consider bridging finance to make the transition easier?

Each option has advantages and risks, which is why it's important to have a strategy before making any decisions.

If you're thinking about selling, buying, or simply exploring your options, I'd be happy to help you work through the numbers and create a plan that suits your situation.

πŸ‘‡ Tell me in the comments:
If you were moving today, would you sell first or buy first?
