The Mandela Bay Development Agency extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in the Kulture Korner series of conversations at St Peter’s Rainbow Village. Your voices, insights, and presence were what made the journey meaningful and impactful.

This final session featured Professor Babalwa Magoqwana, whose dialogue, “Bodies, Power and Politics – Gendered Identities in South African Political Life” marked the close of the current series. But more conversations are coming, because dialogue like this has real value to build understanding, strengthen our community and spark new ideas.

Hosting these conversations at St Peter's Rainbow Village, South End carried special significance. As a place rooted in history and culture, it provides the perfect backdrop for reflecting on where we’ve come from and where we are going together.

This time last week an excited group were gathered on the St Peter's Rainbow Village, South End deck for the third instalment of the Kulture Korner Dialogue Series.
The dialogue, “Bodies, Power and Politics – Gendered Identities in South African Political Life”, brought together powerful voices and perspectives. KULTURE KORNER: Olwam Mnqwzi on leadership decay and the crisis of moral direction.
The second instalment of the Kulture Korner dialogue series at St Peter's Rainbow Village, South End discussed African leadership through the metaphor of a broken compass. Drawing from African and Western philosophy, history, and gender perspectives, the conversation looked at justice, power, and the purpose of leadership.

The group reflected on how leaders are trained, the importance of ethical conduct, and the role of dignity, pride, and collective responsibility in shaping societies

KULTURE KORNER

This afternoon sees the second instalment of the Mandela Bay Development Agency’s dialogue series, Kulture Korner.

We invite you to join us at St Peter’s Rainbow Village at 16h00 for an interesting and though-provoking engagement on leadership, ethics and the critical importance of integrity.

These creative conversations are designed as a space for academics, artists, activists and community members to engage deeply and connect meaningfully with challenging ideas, as part of the Agency’s broader focus on the creative economy.
The second session is curated by Loyiso Mali, a photographer whose work focuses on African culture and storytelling, and features Afrocentric leadership speaker and author, Olwam Mnqwazi, and artist and playwright Mongezi Ncwadi.

This free series of events will continue on the last three Fridays of June from 16h00 at St Peter’s Rainbow Village, covering themes such as leadership ethics, gender, art and politics. Interested members of the public can reserve a seat via RSVP to [email protected]
