What makes a property a home? 🏠
In real estate the short answer would be bricks, flooring, roof, beams, the area and a price tag. But if you truly define the heart of the word home, the meaning changes completely. Rather than being defined by square metres, it is defined by moments. Not by the number of rooms, but by the memories made in it.
So, what truly makes a property a home?
It is the warmth you feel when you walk in the front door after a long day. It is the place you feel safest when you need to be alone. It is the scent of your favorite candle while taking a bath. The laughter of friends in the next room. A place where you can just be yourself and speak your truth.
Home is found in little rituals - your morning coffee at the same kitchen counter, worship music filling each and every corner of the walls, dancing in the living room thinking no one can see you, watering your plants on weekends and eating dinner at the same dining room table.
You can live in the most luxurious house, but if it’s empty of connection, it will never feel like home. Your home holds your history, stories, celebrations, hard conversations and late-night talks.
When thinking of renting or buying, ask yourself:
Does this place reflect who I am and who I want to be?
