“Do you have hands that turns things in to gold? Do you think you have what it takes to join our maintenance team? Then look no further!
We are on the hunt for a skilled and reliable handyman to join our maintenance department. You will be responsible for all upkeep and repair duties including maintaining various buildings owned by the company, identifying the need for repairs, responding to clients’ maintenance requests, and servicing company equipment.
To be an effective handyman, you must be hard-working individual, with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Skilful hands, good physical stamina, and strong technical knowledge are important parts of the successful candidates’ talents.
Responsibilities
• Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
• Perform maintenance and electrical repairs
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
• Undertake light installation or carpeting (e.g. build cabinets)
• Repair equipment or appliances
• Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
• Identify and report the need for major repairs
• Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide clients with support and guidance on maintaining their equipment.
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
• Change building windows
• Installation of tiles
• Welding
• Installation and door repairing
Duties
• Carry out tasks within specified time limits
• Ensure compliance to applicable codes, Legislation and procedure including health and safety
• Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
• Report to Line Manager
• Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line Manager
• Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole
• Contribute towards the efficient running of the team
• Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
Secondary Tasks/Duties:
You must carry out your duties to the best of your ability, having consideration for the needs of your colleagues, the organisation and its clients/customers. You must obey all lawful and reasonable orders given to you and comply with the Organisation’s rules, procedures and policies
Management / Supervisory Responsibilities
People or Equipment:
You are responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you must ensure that equipment is used in accordance with any training provided, the organisation’s policies and procedures and the law and using, where applicable, any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment provided. You are responsible for ensuring that the equipment you use is maintained and can be used/operated at all times.
Requirements and skills:
• Proven experience as handyman
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
• Basic math skills
• A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a similar role.
• Solid experience with painting, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Extremely organized with good communication skills.
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
• Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.

• A full driving licence
Hours: Your usual hours will be from 8am to 5pm.
However, you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets.
Your job will involve travel to sites within the agreed area.
Special Working Conditions:
The nature of your role will require you to travel within the area that your team covers. However, from time to time you may be expected to travel outside that area as the job role requires.
