Interest Rates Stay Put in South Africa

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has decided to keep interest rates unchanged following the latest Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting.

That means:
🔹 Repo rate remains at 6.75%
🔹 Prime lending rate stays at 10.25%

The decision wasn’t unanimous — four MPC members voted to hold rates, while two pushed for a 25 basis point cut.

For now, borrowers and homeowners can expect stability, but the split vote shows there’s still debate about where rates could head next.

Stay tuned — the rate conversation is far from over.
