Margaret Matthews Garden of Remembrance

A peaceful space created to honour the memory of those who have gone before us, while celebrating the lives, stories and special moments they shared with us.

The Margaret Matthews Garden of Remembrance at Olivedale Retirement Village is a place for reflection, gratitude and remembrance, a beautiful reminder that although loved ones may no longer be with us, their memories continue to live on.

One of the joys of living at Olivedale Retirement Village is sharing our beautiful surroundings with an incredible variety of birdlife, despite being surrounded by an ever-growing urban environment.

On 13 August, two particularly special visitors were spotted in the village, a Long-crested Eagle and an Orange River White-eye.

Both sightings were exciting, with one being an exceptionally rare record for our area. What a privilege to have such remarkable wildlife right on our doorstep!
