Next up - Fourways Mall, where the conversation continues with RocoMamas, around building lifestyle brands in modern retail, followed by a tour of the repositioned mall. Tour members will wrap up a day filled with insight, collaboration, and meaningful industry connection with networking and cocktails at Mamasamba in Rosebank.

Yesterday’s Township Retail Investment Summit (TRIS) 2026 was a valuable meeting of minds, with fresh insights, meaningful conversations and a shared commitment to unlocking opportunity in underserved markets. That was the overwhelming consensus from the RNS team members who joined the SACSC Retail Tour of Gauteng and Mpumalanga from 10 to 12 March.

The tour visited 13 malls in total, travelling to Pretoria, Alberton, eMalahleni, Mbombela, Kanyamazane, Nelspruit, White River, Middelburg and Ermelo. Tour members immersed themselves in centre layouts, eye-catching storefronts, common area innovations and much more.

Two key learnings derived from centre management briefings?
