Market Players is inviting Botswana's youth and citizen entrepreneurs to participate in a 21km relay marathon in an effort to raise funds for a fully furnished and fully equipped entrepreneurship hub in the heart of Gaborone.

The hub will serve a dual purpose of being a base for Market Player's incubation, acceleration and funding programs as well as offer subsidized sitting and virtual tenancy for SMEs.

Eligibility:
✅Must be youth aged between 18 to 35 years
✅Must be a citizen of Botswana
✅Must have a registered company in Botswana (must be in operation for at least 2 years)
✅Must submit one (1) reason why entrepreneurship development is critical to Botswana's economic recovery
✅Must be available to run 1km of 21km on race date

We are pleased to share some really cool facts about us 😍📊📌

Initially the Business Development wing of Van De Carter, Market Players was restructured into an independent and comprehensive public benefit entrepreneurial development organization on the 4th July 2020, a COVID baby 👶🙃

Market Players is a female and youth led organization whose overarching goal is to improve the survival rate of citizen owned businesses in Botswana. Our Board of Trustees comprises of eight (8) diverse and multi-skilled youth and citizens of Botswana 👩‍💼👨‍💼

We have a total of 285 entrepreneurs on our database, 96% of whom are citizens of Botswana with 57% of them being female and 43% male. 83% of our entrepreneurs are youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years; 61% are based in the South East district, while 29% are spread amongst the Southern, Kweneng and Central districts of Botswana 🇧🇼

Our entrepreneurs play in an array of economic sectors most of whom are in Innovation and Technology,Multimedia, Farming, Agro-Processing, Construction and Services. 86% of our members operate formal businesses with 76% of these being in the start up to growth stages 📈

Over the last year we have focused our efforts on expanding our business network and sourcing access to market opportunities for entrepreneurs in Botswana. Thus far, we have vision friends across 5 African states being Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria and South Sudan 🌍

We are highly active on social media and have a total of over 8500 followers across 4 social media platforms 📱

On the 1st of April 2016, started operations as a business development and real estate agency. Over the years we restructured the company to focus on real estate while the business development wing morphed into a comprehensive public benefit organization.

Van De Carter is rooted on being malleable, formless and avant-garde. True to this, our business strategy has changed countless times, but our vision has remained the same: to be a catalyst for smart growth and differentiated real estate.

As we celebrate our 5 year milestone, we are excited to be joined by our sister companies in the Van De Carter Group; and even more pleased to share our relocation to South Africa in a bid to position ourselves as a globally competitive company.
