Former Mr South Africa Returns to KZN After 20 Years to Lead Growth at Bahari Bay.
After 20 years living and building a professional career in Cape Town, former Mr South Africa, Ntando Lurwengu, has returned to KwaZulu-Natal, joining a 100-hectare property development at Bahari Bay Eco Estate in the South Coast of KZN as Head of Sales and Public Relations.
Aligning with a growing semigration trend, as more South Africans turn their attention to the KZN South Coast as a viable and increasingly attractive alternative for both lifestyle living and long-term investment.
Ntando made history as the youngest titleholder in the Mr South Africa competition and later represented South Africa on the international stage in Los Angeles, California. He now steps into a role focused on leading growth and shaping the public-facing engagement of Bahari Bay at a time when the region is gaining significant national momentum.
After two decades in one of the country’s most competitive property markets, his transition reflects a strategic recognition of the opportunity emerging along the South Coast. The region today mirrors many of the early growth characteristics once seen in Cape Town, yet remains far more accessible from a pricing perspective.
Bahari Bay Eco Estate, a 100-hectare coastal development on the KZN South Coast, representing over R1 billion in long-term property value, offering secure, nature-integrated living for homeowners and investors, with over 500 stands, 40 hectares dedicated to conservation, and a 7.8km network of walking and biking trails. Positioned at the forefront of the region’s growth, the estate has already recorded 109 plot sales in the current phase, with construction underway and rising demand reinforcing its role as a key driver in the South Coast’s next phase of coastal development.
His appointment signals a clear intention to elevate how Bahari Bay is experienced, communicated, and positioned within the broader national conversation around property investment, economic growth, and regional development.
