Barcelona 🇪🇸✨

As I sit and reflect on this past week, I find myself feeling incredibly grateful.

To be attending my third Pam Golding International Conference, in the year that the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, feels particularly special. Standing amongst some of the most talented, passionate and inspiring people in our industry is both humbling and motivating.

What makes occasions like these so meaningful isn't only the beautiful setting or the celebrations, but the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the country, share experiences, learn from one another and be reminded that success is never achieved alone.
Looking back over the last decade with Pam Golding, I could never have imagined where this journey would lead. The lessons, friendships, mentorship, opportunities and clients who have trusted me with some of the biggest decisions of their lives have all played a part in getting me here.

A heartfelt thank you to every person who has supported me, backed me and trusted me along the way. I carry each of your stories with immense gratitude.

Barcelona has been unforgettable, and I'm returning home feeling inspired, re-energised and excited for what lies ahead. ✨

“Where do we even start as a first time buyer?” 🏡

Buying your first property can feel overwhelming because there are so many moving parts: bonds, transfer costs, legal documents, negotiations, timelines… and a lot of people have never done it before.

That’s exactly why having a clear roadmap matters.

The process I guide first-time buyers through:
✔️ Step 1: Get bond pre-approval
✔️ Step 2: Budget beyond the purchase price
✔️ Step 3: Understand what you’re buying
✔️ Step 4: Make a strategic offer

One of the biggest mistakes I see?
Buyers using their maximum bond approval as their actual budget.
Just because a bank approves you for R2.8m doesn’t mean you should spend R2.8m.

The buyers who enjoy ownership most are usually the ones who leave room for maintenance, emergencies, lifestyle and future goals (instead of stretching themselves to the limit).

First-time buying doesn’t have to feel complicated when you have the right guidance.

If you’re thinking about buying in St Francis Bay, I’m happy to help simplify the process from pre-approval to keys in hand.

From remote fishing camp to South Africa's "Little Venice", the St Francis Bay story is one of vision and careful preservation. 🌊

In 1954, WWII pilot Leighton Hulett purchased 273 morgen of coastal land after seeing an ad in Farmers Weekly. What he built wasn't just a village, it was a carefully crafted coastal community.

From 51 plots in 1956 to a thriving coastal community, St Francis Bay has evolved while protecting what made it special. ✨

When you buy here, you're becoming part of a story that began nearly 500 years ago and was intentionally shaped over the last 70 years. The architectural integrity, marina lifestyle, world-class surfing, and natural beauty preservation aren't accidents, they're the result of decades of careful, intentional development.

The Thyspunt nuclear power station proposal is in a critical phase, and if you care about St Francis Bay's future, you have until 25 May 2026 to register as an Interested & Affected Party and submit your objection. ⏰

What's happening:
Thyspunt (12km west of St Francis Bay) has been recommended as the preferred site for a 5,200 MW nuclear power station in the Draft Environmental Scoping Report released March 2026.

Why registering as I&AP matters:
Only registered I&APs have legal standing to appeal environmental authorisation, receive technical documents directly from the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (WSP Group Africa), and influence mitigation strategies. This is your constitutional right to have a say in developments affecting your environment and livelihood.

How to register:
Email: [email protected]
Include: Name, surname, contact number, email address
State: "I would like to register as an Interested and Affected Party in the Thyspunt Nuclear EIA"

How to object:
You don't need expertise or a lawyer. Just state why this matters to you and lodge your objection. Every objection counts. Public opinion matters.

Key concerns being raised:
Social impact → 10,500 people influx during construction, strain on infrastructure, housing, crime prevention
Environmental risks → Impact on mobile dune ecosystem (Grade I Cultural Landscape), thermal effects on marine life, long-term radioactive waste storage
Economic concerns → Potential impact on squid industry, tourism uncertainty, property value questions

Groups already registered: Cape St Francis Civic Association, Thyspunt Alliance, Kromme Enviro Trust

What this means for property:
This proposal directly affects St Francis Bay's future: environment, infrastructure, economy, and property values. Decisions being made now will shape the area for decades.

Your voice deserves to be heard in the formal process.

Deadline: 25 May 2026
