๐จ A HEARTFELT PLEA FROM CAST AWAYS ANIMAL SANCTUARY ๐พโค๏ธ
First and foremost, THANK YOU to every person who donated dog food to us last week. โค๏ธ๐ Your generosity kept our dogs fed through another incredibly difficult week. We honestly cannot thank you enough.
Today, however, we need to be honest about where we are.
At Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary, we currently care for around 130 dogs, and every single one of them needs to eat every single day. That is approximately 280 kg of dog food every week. ๐พ
And this is where we are struggling so badly...
We are faced with a heartbreaking choice: do we pay towards our veterinary account, or do we buy food for the animals?
The reality is that we simply cannot afford to do both.
We already pay the plot, maintenance and staff salaries from our own pockets. Donations are used for the animals โ their food, cleaning supplies and veterinary needs.
The last three months have been the hardest we have ever experienced. We have had to close our doors to new intakes because we simply cannot take on any more animals while we are fighting to keep the ones already in our care safe and fed.
But the truth is... we are drowning. ๐
Our veterinary account is still sitting at approximately R44,041 outstanding. We desperately need to bring this amount down because we have teenage puppies and cats who need to be sterilised, and we cannot continue to allow our veterinary account to grow while knowing these procedures are still needed.
We are therefore making another heartfelt plea today. ๐

Even R50, R100 or R200 makes a difference. If many people give a little, together it can become something enormous.
We don't want to give up.
We don't want to turn our backs on the animals who already depend on us.
We just need our community to help us get through this incredibly difficult time.
