THE 7 AGENTS OF POVERTY
1. LAZINESS
Proverbs 19:15 LAZINESS CASTS ONE INTO A DEEP SLEEP,
And an idle person will suffer hunger.
Sleep in this context doesn't just refer to natural sleep though that is also inclusive but it also speaks of inactivity. Laziness makes men inactive and automatically it's the major catalyst for poverty. You can't escape hunger If you are lazy and in love with sleep.
2. LYING
Proverbs 21:6
The GETTING OF TREASURES BY A LYING TONGUE is a vanity tossed to and fro of THEM THAT SEEK DEATH.
Any money you get by Lying will not last for a long time as the bible says Proverbs 12:9 that a Lying tongue is but for a moment. Getting money by deception will kill a man's Spiritual life, many Relationships will be wasted and finally kill him or kill prematurely those who will inherit his wealth gotten by lies.
3. IGNORANCE
Isaiah 5:13 Therefore MY PEOPLE ARE GONE INTO CAPTIVITY, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
If you have studied everything except money, money management and the flow of currency you are likely to walllow in poverty no matter your degrees in other areas. Get books on Finances and majorly be informed about biblical principles when it comes to Finances. Financial captivity is a possibility If you lack knowledge on Finances.
4. GLUTTONESS AND DRUNKENNESS
Proverbs 23:21
For THE DRUNKARD AND THE GLUTTON SHALL COME TO POVERTY: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
It's sad that a glutton who happens to be an addicted eater of meats is put in the same category with a drunkard who is an excessive drinker of alcohol. This is because all of them just think about the now not the future, If you could save the money that you have been spending carelessly in every restaurant or new joint in town in the name of "let me spoil myself" you would have had quite an amount money by now to even do productive things that would have provided you with more than you would ever need.
5. IDLE TALK
Proverbs 14:23 In all labor there is profit, but IDLE TALK LEADS ONLY TO POVERTY.
Idle talk is a virus especially with social media today. Idle talk involves gossip but it goes beyond that, it also involves talking about things that have nothing to do with your progress in life. Not every good story is worthy hearing, these idle talks will make you broke because they will take most of your time.
6. CARELESS SPENDING
Proverbs 21:20
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but A FOOLISH MAN SPENDS IT UP.
The bible brutally calls any person that can't save money a fool. If you spend everything you get without saving God calls you a fool. Spending is not wrong but spending everything is wrong and it is also a major catalyst of poverty. Be wise and begin to save money even little by little.
7. SEXUAL IMMORALITY
Proverbs 6:26 For by means of a harlot
A MAN IS REDUCED TO A CRUST OF BREAD;
And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.
Sexual immorality reduces a man to a loaf of bread, imagine how cheap a loaf of bread is that's how you cheapen yourself when you get into Sexual immorality. I don't care how successful you look you would have been ten times better than that If you were not fornicating and committing adultery.
