The local authorities and the Ministry of Lands must redesign the procedure for land allocation and further strengthen measures to prevent illegal land allocation. It is difficult to believe that from the time of allocation of land to the completion of the houses the local authority was not aware. What work do they do on daily basis if they could not stop illegal land allocation or at least stop the construction?
Much as we condemn illegal land allocation, we also believe the local authority must be able to prevent illegal construction and avoid demolition of property. They are literally removing the cobwebs and leaving the spider.
Councils can do better than what we are currently seeing.
