DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT BULAWAYO?

Our very own Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe in Centenary Park officially ranks fourth in size among all museums in Africa, but its academic weight goes vastly deeper than that!

With an exceptional collection of over 5.5 million individual scientific specimens, it stands arguably as the largest and most significant museum repository in the entire Southern Hemisphere. Beyond being a spectacular tourist attraction, it is a world-class training ground and research center utilised by top safari guides and global scientists.

Here is what makes this local property a global research powerhouse:

The Mammal & Bird Vaults: It holds the largest collection of African mammals in existence (100,000 specimens) and a massive collection of 110,000 bird study skins, ranking 4th globally, surpassed only by institutions in London, Brussels, and New York. It also displays the famous 5.5-tonne Doddieburn Elephant on the ground floor!

Ancient Geological Treasures: The museum's geology exhibits are among the finest in Africa, featuring rock formations like 3-billion-year-old stromatolites (among the earliest forms of life on earth) and a life-sized replica of a heritage gold mine.

A Prehistoric Home: The museum serves as the permanent home for Mbiresaurus raathi, a 230-million-year-old, long-necked creature discovered in the Zambezi Valley that stands as the oldest definitive dinosaur fossil ever unearthed in Africa! It also holds invaluable evolution fossils like the Syntarsus dinosaur.

Innovations in Education: Keeping up with modern conservation, the museum property recently expanded to include the Mike Gardiner Butterfly Garden (2023) and an active Wetlands Education project (2025) right outside its doors!

From a custom-built circular pavilion opened in March 1964 to a world-class scientific archive, Bulawayo truly holds a treasure trove of global heritage.

DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT THE QUEENS SPORTS CLUB?

Its extraordinary real estate and survival story dates back to the very birth of our city:

The land was originally granted to the club in mid-1894 by the BSA Company. After a series of sales and ownership shifts, the land was acquired by the municipality on the strict condition that it must always remain a sporting facility.

Tragedy struck when a careless cigarette burnt the entire double-storey wood and iron clubhouse to the ground. Making matters worse, Bulawayo was suffering an acute water shortage. The fire brigade of the day made a tough call: they chose to save the city's water and let the old timber building burn!

Armed with only a brick storeroom (which became their temporary bar), the club rebuilt. In 1953, they secured a monumental 99-year lease from the Council (running until 2051) for the staggering rent of just one pound per annum!

Queens has hosted everything from the massive 1953 Rhodes Centenary Exhibition (attended by 25,000 people) to international cricket, hockey test matches, and iconic music concerts.

Today, this prime piece of local real estate continues to stand proud as a world-class international cricket venue and a treasured piece of Bulawayo's sporting heritage!

You've been sitting on that property for years. You know its value. But when offers come in, they're lower than you expected.

Here's why that happens more often than you'd think.

1️⃣ Unresolved title issues
If the title deed isn't in order, buyers (and their lawyers) will discount heavily or walk away. Sorting this before listing is non-negotiable.

2️⃣ Deferred maintenance
Peeling paint, broken gates, overgrown gardens. Buyers see these as problems they'll have to pay to fix, and they subtract that from their offer. Every time.

3️⃣ Overpricing at the start
Properties that sit too long on the market become stigmatised. Buyers assume something is wrong. A correct asking price from day one protects your final sale price.

4️⃣ Poor quality photos and listing presentation
In 2026, the first viewing happens on a phone screen. Bad photos lose buyers before they even make an appointment.

5️⃣ No professional valuation
Sellers who guess their price often either undersell significantly or overprice and stall. A proper appraisal from a registered estate agent gives you a defensible, market-accurate number.

Our team provides professional property valuations and appraisals across Zimbabwe. We'll tell you what your property is worth and what you can do to maximise it.

DID YOU KNOW THIS, BULAWAYO?

Tucked right into our CBD stands, at the corner of Lobengula Street and 9th Avenue, St. Mary's Cathedral, a jaw-dropping architectural masterpiece with a historical crown: it is the only Minor Basilica in the entire Southern African region!

Here is a quick look at its incredible property timeline:

1903: The idea was born! Fr Barthelemy SJ suggested building it to honor a 50th Jubilee. The foundation stone was laid on March 25th.

1904: Just a year later, doors officially opened with a spectacular Pontifical High Mass on Easter Sunday.

1959: As the city grew, a massive expansion project was completed, beautifully doubling the capacity of the original cathedral while preserving its structural heritage.

2013: Pope Francis officially elevated this stunning monument to the prestigious status of a Minor Basilica.

For over 120 years, this magnificent structure has stood as an undeniable pillar of Bulawayo's rich architectural history and city skyline.

Here are the things you can look at to help you decide on whether a property is worth investing in:

Location
Is it close to amenities, good roads, and growing areas? In Bulawayo, areas like Suburbs, Hillside, and Burnside consistently hold value.

Title deed status
Freehold title is king. Always verify ownership is clean and transferable before committing a cent.

Infrastructure and services
Reliable water, power access, and road conditions matter more than most buyers realise.

Comparable sales in the area
What are similar properties actually selling for? Not asking price. Sale price.

Rental yield potential
Even if you're not planning to rent, a property with good yield is a property with strong demand.

Future development plans
Is the area being built up or left behind? Local council plans tell a story.

Investing in property is one of the most powerful wealth-building decisions you can make. But it has to be the right property, at the right price, with the right paperwork.

That's exactly what CC Sales Property Division is here to help you figure out.
