The UAE Fuel Price Committee has confirmed the new rates for May 2026 — effective tomorrow, Friday 1 May.
Petrol grades all rise by ~AED 0.27/litre. Diesel stays frozen to support logistics and supply chains during the ongoing regional disruption.
📊 What changed:
⛽ Super 98 → AED 3.66/L (was 3.39)
⛽ Special 95 → AED 3.55/L (was 3.28)
⛽ E-Plus 91 → AED 3.48/L (was 3.20)
🚛 Diesel → AED 4.69/L (no change)
💰 What it costs you:
A full 50L tank now costs ~AED 13.50 more. SUV drivers (70L) pay ~AED 18.90 more per fill-up. Typical commuters will see AED 60–90 extra per month — purely on fuel.
🏠 What we’re seeing in the market:
Every fuel-price hike in 2026 has shifted enquiries toward properties closer to work corridors — Creek Harbour, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. The math is starting to favour a slightly higher rent, in exchange for cutting a 60-minute commute in half.
