Recently, our Homelessness and Outreach Services Manager, Ben OโBrien, had the privilege of contributing to the Homelessness Queensland Conference, joining important conversations around lived expertise, early intervention, prevention, relational practice and creating systems that genuinely support people experiencing homelessness.
As part of his role at Teen Challenge QLD, Ben leads our homelessness and outreach services, including New Hope House, our Youth Crisis Accommodation in Brisbane. Ben brings both professional experience and personal insight to the conversation.
His passion is to see young people met with dignity, compassion and hope; recognising that lasting change often begins through trusted relationships, belonging and opportunities for restoration.
Throughout the conference, discussions highlighted the importance of moving beyond simply responding to crisis and toward approaches that foster connection, resilience and long-term outcomes for individuals, young people and vulnerable communities.
At Teen Challenge QLD, we believe every young person deserves more than a bed for the night. They deserve to be seen, valued, supported and empowered with a pathway toward hope, healing and a brighter future.
