She stayed.

Through the tears, the anger, the hard conversations and the moments she wanted to pack her things and leave.

Last week, Teen Challenge QLD celebrated a very special graduation at our New Life Women’s Centre.

When this young woman first walked through the doors, she was carrying years of pain, trauma, broken trust and addiction.

She shared that when she first came into the program, she was surrounded by people who genuinely wanted good things for her life, and that felt uncomfortable.

She wasn’t used to people loving her without wanting something back.

Recovery was not easy.

She learned to sit with feelings instead of escaping them. She learned to be uncomfortable. She began to discover who she was without addiction.

In her words, “Taking the drugs away was only the beginning.”

Over 12 months, she built something new. Tools. Faith. Purpose. Hope for her future.

This is why long-term residential rehabilitation matters.

It gives people the time, support and safe community needed to do the deep work of rebuilding a life.

We are so proud of the woman standing here today.
Her journey is not finished. It is only just beginning. ❤️

Another $2,000 just came in to DOUBLE the impact. 🙌

Thanks to some incredibly generous sponsors, we now have an extra $2,000 in matched funds available for our Bridge to Brisbane runners.

That means eligible donations can be doubled while funds last.

$𝟓𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 $𝟏𝟎𝟎.
$𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 $𝟐𝟎𝟎.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, this is a pretty good time to do it.

Support Teen Challenge QLD and help end addiction, one step at a time.

Matched funds are limited. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Sometimes a donation is about much more than the item itself.

A big thank you to Mick, who organised the donation of a basketball hoop and volleyball net for the centres.

Having spaces and equipment where the guys can get outside, be active, have some fun and spend time together is such a valuable part of life at the centre.

Thanks, Mick, for thinking of us and helping make this happen! 🏀

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and sincerely thank our Gold Matching Sponsor, WeatherpRoof Restorations.

Because of their generous support, donations to our Bridge to Brisbane runners were able to be matched, helping double the impact of every eligible gift.

We simply couldn’t do what we do without businesses like Weatherproof Restorations choosing to stand with us and help people find freedom from addiction.

If you’re looking for roofing services, go and check them out and support a business that supports Teen Challenge QLD.

Thank you, WeatherpRoof Restorations, for helping us end addiction, one step at a time.

Crisis accommodation can be about so much more than a place to sleep.

At Teen Challenge Queensland’s New Hope House, we provide crisis accommodation for young men aged 16 to 25, but our support goes far beyond providing a roof over their heads.

We want to challenge the perception of what crisis accommodation can look like by creating opportunities for young men to build confidence, develop healthy routines and experience positive connection.

That can look like practical life skills, one-on-one support or simply getting out on the court and being active together. 🏀

Because when a young man comes through our doors, we’re not just thinking about where he will sleep tonight. We’re investing in where he can go next.

Coffee, park stroll and a Saturday morning well spent at Laurel Bank Park.

No big agenda. Just coffee, conversation and enjoying one of Toowoomba’s beautiful spots together.

In recovery, simple moments like this matter. They help rebuild trust, connection and the confidence to enjoy life in a healthy way again.

Together, we are helping change the stigma around addiction and recovery, one life and one ordinary moment at a time.

A clever solution making a big difference to our mowing team! 🙌

A huge thank you to Richard from Tom Graham Engineering, who generously fabricated a custom solution for our trailer, allowing our zero-turn mower to sit at the front and freeing up much-needed space for branches, clippings and green waste.

Our mowing service is one of Teen Challenge QLD’s social enterprises, creating practical work opportunities while supporting the wider work of our organisation.

We are so thankful for volunteers like Richard who generously bring their time, incredible skills and practical know-how to support what we do.

We are so grateful for businesses that support Teen Challenge QLD.

What does community look like when people show up with heart and purpose?

This moment with Dan Walters and Peter Cassimatis after last year’s Bridge to Brisbane says it all — commitment, camaraderie, and a shared belief that recovery is possible. It’s my honour to support Teen Challenge Queensland with my photography and help shine a light on the incredible work they do every day.

Teen Challenge Qld provides long‑term residential rehabilitation for men and women overcoming drug and alcohol addiction. Their program offers structure, support, and genuine pathways to lasting recovery, personal growth, and life transformation. They walk alongside individuals facing addiction, homelessness, alcohol dependency, and mental health challenges — restoring hope one life at a time.

With the Bridge to Brisbane happening again on 13 September, it’s not too late to support this worthy cause. If you’d like to know how, please get in touch.
