After three and a half years as Quartz Commercial, we’re excited to be officially re-branding as X Commercial INB and bringing X Commercial to QLD as their first office.

While extremely proud of everything we have achieved and created with Quartz Commercial, after long discussions and meeting the X Team at large, we feel that this move is the next progression for us as a business. This allows us to continue the great company we’re building while having the ability to tap into the fantastic framework X Commercial has built at scale and giving us national scope for our business and clients.

I’d like to thank Daniel and the team for the warm welcome and making the process as smooth as possible in the build up to the change over, with a special mention to Katie, Conrad and Chris for assisting throughout. We’re looking forward to seeing where this partnership takes us and continuing to see X Commercial grow throughout QLD!

As far as the day to day goes, its business as usual, just with a bigger team and international network.

In Episode 6 of Building Brix, I’m sitting down with Tim Jones, Head of Sales for Chesters Real Estate.

In this episode, Tim shares his journey in real estate, and ultimately joining Chesters. He explains why boutique agencies are gaining traction, driven by relationships, track record, and better financial outcomes, and why he stepped away from team management to focus on deal-making and the efficiences he’s found that allow him to spend more time with his young family. Tim also breaks down how his campaigns are managed to maintain service and clearance, and why pricing discipline and communication shape outcomes.

We also discuss Brisbane’s market outlook, strong development site demand influenced by budget factors and the Olympics, and practical tools like a visual “map room,” plus lessons on mentorship, coaching, and choosing teams over brand.

For Episode 4 of Building Brix, I’m sitting down with Adam Leishman, Director and Principal Licensee at The Commercial Guys (TCG) - a specialist commercial agency based in the Moreton Bay Region of QLD.

Having sat behind the scenes historically, we discuss how previous business endeavours have assisted Adam in the growth of TCG over the last 10 years, how coming into the industry having already been an investor in commercial real estate sets them apart (particularly in PM) and what agents can do in the current market to differentiate themselves.
