🎉🏠 Punchbowl is finally moving forward 🏠🎉
Last night, Council took a significant step toward unlocking one of the City’s largest and most long-awaited housing sites.

After 15 years of work to address complex site constraints, Council has agreed to start the process of a major land transaction to develop the former Punchbowl caravan park site in South Bunbury into a residential housing estate – delivering approximately 53 new homes across a mix of lot sizes for Bunbury families through a joint venture partnership.

What’s being delivered:
🔹 Approximately 53 new homes – including ready-built houses
🔹 A mix of lot sizes to suit different household and financial needs
🔹 Delivery targeted within 2 to 3 years
🔹 Local jobs during construction
🔹 Activation of a site that has sat vacant for almost a quarter of a century

The site contains established trees, predominantly introduced species. A vegetation review will be undertaken before any agreements are finalised, and the City is committed to retaining trees where practicable. The subdivision will also include public open space.

This is not the final decision. A business plan will now be prepared and publicly advertised for a minimum of six weeks under the Local Government Act. During that period, the full proposal will be available for public inspection and the community will have a formal opportunity to review the details and make submissions.
