Notice I’ve been a little quieter than usual?
There’s a reason behind that…
I’ve actually been 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗬 behind the scenes.
Busy doing appraisals. Busy meeting sellers. Busy giving people advice.
But apparently I’ve also been busy doing something a little unfashionable in real estate…
𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 😂
And lately, that has cost me a heap of listings.
𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵, 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆, 𝗜’𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵.
Because if winning a listing means telling someone what they want to hear instead of what I genuinely believe they need to know, I’m okay with losing it.
👉 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.
And before anyone gets too excited… maybe these agents and sellers will achieve the results they’re chasing.
The market might prove me completely wrong.
And if it does? 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰.
I genuinely wish them all the luck in the world and hope they achieve amazing outcomes.
Because this isn’t about me being right.
It’s about giving advice I genuinely believe is right for the person sitting in front of me.
As we all know, 𝗜’𝗺 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿. 😂
I’ll strategise, negotiate and fight like hell for every last dollar I believe the market will give my sellers.
But I’m not about putting people into situations that simply aren’t realistic for them.
Sometimes that means stacking the numbers and saying, “This doesn’t work for you right now.”
Sometimes it means, “𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘄. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.”
And sometimes everything aligns and I get to say:
“𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗼. 😂”
That’s why I’m playing the real estate long game.
I want every vendor I meet, including the ones who choose another agent, to know my advice wasn’t designed 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.
It was designed to protect their best interests.
And I’ll never regret giving someone the advice I genuinely believed was right for them at the time.
𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀.
𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.
