🔄 Proposal 1: Reduce discount to ~33%

* Instead of 50%, discount drops to 33%
* So you’d pay tax on 67% of the gain

👉 Example:

* $100k gain → taxed as $67k instead of $50k

📈 Proposal 2: Index gains to inflation instead

This is the alternative idea (and widely seen as more “fair”). Instead of a flat discount, you:
* Adjust the purchase price for inflation
* Only pay tax on the real (inflation-adjusted) gain

👉 Example:

* Buy for $500k
* Inflation-adjusted value = $650k
* Sell for $700k
👉 Taxable gain = $50k (not $200k)
