It was an early start for Jason today, completing a pest control treatment to a Large Medical centre before the doors opened!🌅

When servicing medical centres and healthcare facilities, timing is everything! Completing this treatment outside business hours was the best approach. Why? It allowed for minimal disruption to staff, patients and daily operations and allowed for adequate drying time before the facility opened.

From medical centres and healthcare facilities to offices, Child care centres, restaurants and retail spaces, we provide professional pest management solutions tailored to your workplace.

This morning we had the pleasure of completing a pest control treatment at Parrots for Purpose – A Gold Coast Based Charity that pairs companion parrots with individuals facing mental health challenges, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and disabilities.

At Exterminate Pest Solutions, we understand the importance of adapting our treatment methods when working around animals, ensuring pest management is carried out thoughtfully and professionally. We applied a tailored treatment approach to suit the unique environment and the birds that call it home.

Here’s how we approached this treatment:

✅ Birds and cages were covered to help protect them during the treatment process.

✅ All internal spray treatments remained below knee height or below the lowest point of their cage, keeping applications low and away from the birds' elevated areas.

✅ Treatment methods were adapted to the environment, with the wellbeing of the birds taking precedence throughout the job, while still taking care of the pest issue.

We believe effective pest control starts with understanding the environment we're working in and selecting appropriate treatment methods to suit the situation.

A big thank you to Parrots for Purpose for trusting us with your pest control needs!

🚩MYTH BUSTED!!!🚩

“I HAVE STEEL FRAMES, SO I DON’T NEED REGULAR TERMITE INSPECTIONS!”

We hear this one A LOT, but it’s a common misconception!

While steel frames and steel piers aren't a food source for Termites, this does not mean that Termites can not enter your home!

🪵TIMBER IS STILL AT RISK
Termites can still attack skirting boards, architraves, door frames, kitchen cabinetry, flooring, roof timbers and other cellulose materials throughout your home.

🏠 STEEL PIERS DON'T ELIMINATE THE RISK
Even homes built on steel piers can be vulnerable to termite attacks. Termites can find their way into concealed areas and damage timber without being noticed. This includes service pipes, plumbing pipes and electrical conduits.

🔎 EARLY DETECTION MATTERS
Regular termite inspections help identify termite activity and potential risks before significant damage occurs, which could help save you thousands!

The bottom line? Steel frames and steel piers don't eliminate the risk of termite damage. Your home can still be vulnerable, regardless of how it's constructed!

Don't wait until you notice the damage!

🛒🐜 BUNNINGS OR SUPERMARKET PESTICIDES VS PROFESSIONAL-GRADE PEST CONTROL! 🐜🛒

Ever found yourself standing in the pest control aisle at Bunnings, Woolworths or Coles, grabbing another spray, another bait or treatment, hoping THIS will finally get rid of those pesky pests? 😅

You're definitely not alone!

We regularly receive calls from frustrated clients who have already spent HUNDREDS of dollars on DIY pest control products, only to find the pests are STILL THERE! 😩

So, what's the difference? Let's break it down! 👇

🧪 1. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE CHEMICALS YOU USE!

Professional-grade products can use different formulations, including specialised additives and binding agents that influence how a product spreads, bonds to surfaces and performs under particular conditions.

Depending on the formulation, these properties can help a treatment remain effective for longer.

🔍 2. PLACEMENT IS EVERYTHING!

You can use the right product, but if it's applied in the wrong location, you might not get the results you're after.

Targeting harbourage areas is often crucial to a successful treatment. Simply spraying where you see pests doesn't necessarily mean you're addressing the source of the problem!

🐜 3. CORRECTLY INDENTIFYING PESTS & UNDERSTANDING PEST BEHAVIOUR MATTERS!

Different pests require different approaches. What works for one species may be ineffective for another, and using the wrong treatment strategy can waste both time and money.

💰 4. SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION!

If you've tried product after product from supermarkets without success, it might be time to call in the professionals!

At Exterminate Pest Solutions, we look beyond the pests you can see. We assess the situation, identify harbourage areas, consider contributing factors and develop a treatment strategy suited to your specific pest problem.

💡 Remember: Effective pest control isn't just about what's in the bottle, it's about the formulation, placement and knowing where, how and why to use it!

Before spending more $$$$ on products that aren't working, let us help you get to the bottom of the problem!

Call or message us today for a no obligation FREE QUOTE, on all your pest needs!

⚡ LET'S TALK ABOUT PRIVATELY OWNED OVERHEAD POWERLINE POLES & TERMITES! ⚡

Do you have a privately owned timber overhead powerline pole on your property?

🏡 Did you know that maintaining a privately owned property pole is the property owner's responsibility in QLD? This includes addressing deterioration and defects caused by termites, decay and other damage.

🐜 Termites don't just attack your home! They can also damage timber power poles, compromising their structural integrity and potentially creating a serious safety hazard.

Why is this important?

✔️ Termites can go undetected – They can damage timber internally, sometimes leaving little visible evidence until the deterioration becomes significant.

✔️ Replacement can be costly – If termite damage compromises a power pole's structural integrity, repairs or replacement may be necessary, potentially resulting in a SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE for the property owner.

✔️ Safety comes first – A weakened power pole can pose a serious risk to people, property and electrical infrastructure.

✔️ Prevention is key – Regular termite inspections can help identify visible signs of termite activity before the damage becomes extensive.

⚠️ DON'T WAIT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE!

✅ Arrange regular termite inspections of your property.
✅ Have timber power poles checked for signs of termite activity and deterioration.
✅ Never ignore mud leads, damaged timber or other signs of termite activity.
✅ If you suspect termite activity or damage, arrange a professional assessment.

⚡ IMPORTANT: Energex recommends a safety inspection of property poles every five years by an appropriately qualified professional. Termite inspections do not replace these electrical and structural safety assessments.

At Exterminate Pest Solutions, we help property owners identify termite activity and potential risks to accessible timber structures.

Don't wait for termites to cause costly damage!

At Exterminate Pest Solutions, we are fully qualified and insured to take care of all your Termite needs. 📞 So call us today!

🪲 A little drama on our evening walk tonight!!!

We were just minding our own business when Tayla spotted something on the footpath...Three Scarab beetles caught in a bit of a love triangle… with two males battling it out over one female!

Looks like someone’s got a pest problem of her own! 😂

Nature is wild, and the drama is real in the insect world! 🪲

💧 HIGH MOISTURE 💧 = ⚠️ A POTENTIAL RISK FOR TERMITE INFESTATIONS!

This high moisture meter reading is a great example of why moisture levels are an important part of a professional termite inspection.

High moisture around or within a property can create conditions that are highly conducive to termites. Termites require moisture to survive and areas with persistent or excessive moisture can provide an ideal environment for termite activity.

Why is this a concern?

High moisture can increase the risk of termite activity and concealed termite damage, particularly when moisture is present in areas that are difficult to see or access. It can also contribute to timber deterioration, fungal decay and mould.

A high moisture reading doesn't automatically mean termites are present but elevated moisture is an important warning sign that should be investigated further by a licenced plumber/applicable tradesperson.

🔎 This is why we don't just look for termites.
A thorough termite inspection also involves looking for conditions around the property that may encourage termite activity, including moisture, timber-to-soil contact, drainage issues and other conducive conditions.

👉 Found moisture? Don't ignore it. Identifying and correcting moisture issues early can help reduce conditions that may attract termites and prevent further building damage.

🦟 MOSQUITOES!🦟

Mosquitoes can quickly turn a relaxing afternoon or evening outdoors into an uncomfortable experience.

More importantly, some mosquitoes can carry and transmit disease-causing pathogens to humans through their bites, including mosquito-borne illnesses such as Ross River virus and Dengue Fever.

With warm, humid weather creating ideal breeding conditions, now is a great time to take a look around your property and reduce the number of places mosquitoes can breed.

🏡 HANDY TIPS FOR HOMEOWNERS:

✔️ Empty buckets, pot plant saucers, toys and other containers holding water
✔️ Keep gutters clear and free from standing water
✔️ Check rainwater tanks are properly screened
✔️ Keep lawns and gardens well maintained and dispose of palm fronds
✔️ Make sure flyscreens are intact and free from holes

🌿 And don't forget your outdoor entertaining areas! Our mosquito treatments can help reduce mosquito activity around your home and gardens, helping you get back to enjoying your backyard.

Yesterday, Jason and Tayla attended a termite conference/seminar as part of our ongoing professional development, strengthening our commitment to staying current with the latest research and best practices in termite management.

The session focused on advancing our understanding of termite biology, foraging behaviour, and contemporary treatment methods, with a strong emphasis on how new scientific findings are shaping more effective and targeted control strategies in the field.

A key part of the experience was the opportunity to hear directly from leading experts, including Dr Theo Evans from the University of Western Australia and Dr Johnalyn Gordon from the University of Florida. Their presentations highlighted recent developments in termite ecology and behaviour, as well as how the change in climate is affecting Termite activity.

Events like this play an important role in ensuring our knowledge remains current and evidence-based. By engaging directly with researchers at the forefront of termite science, we are better equipped to refine our practices, adopt improved treatment techniques, and provide more effective, informed solutions in the field.
