A past seller stopped me in a café recently.

When we sold her home, she had a number in her head. Buyers weren't paying it. She held firm for as long as she could, then decided to sell.

A year on, she came over to thank me.
If she'd held out, she said, she'd still be sitting in that house. Waiting. She never would have moved.
