📢 Important update for anyone buying or selling property in Australia!
From 1 July 2026, new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws apply to conveyancers nationwide — part of a broader effort to protect the property market from financial crime.
Here's what's changing for you:
✅ We'll need a little more ID documentation than usual, on top of the standard Verification of Identity (VOI)
✅ For company or trust transactions, we'll need to identify key individuals involved (generally anyone with a 25%+ share)
✅ In some cases, we may ask where your purchase funds are coming from
Your privacy is always protected under the Privacy Act 1988 — all information is stored in secure, encrypted environments.

Big news for South Australians aged 60 and over - stamp duty has been abolished for those looking to downsize into a newly built home or off-the-plan apartment. 🏡

To qualify, at least one applicant must be 60 or older, you must currently own and live in your SA home, and your new property must be smaller in land size.

Full stamp duty relief applies to new homes up to $2 million and vacant land up to $1.2 million - and it's a one-time relief, so it's worth making sure you meet all the criteria before you commit.
