As a leader, it's your job to notice before it becomes a resignation letter.

Check in. Really check in. Not "how are you going?" in passing but a proper conversation where you actually listen.

Your team is your most valuable asset. Protect them.

Ouch. But also … yes.

This is a question I often ask: "Can you walk me through exactly how that gets done?"

More often than not, the answer is a pause. A bit of a laugh. And then: "Well, Sarah usually handles that."

What happens when Sarah's on leave? What happens when Sarah leaves?

If your processes only exist inside someone's head, they aren't really processes at all. They're a liability.
