A major milestone for Tydal Sands, with the scaffolding down and its distinctive coastal curves now on show.

Located in Woody Point, Tydal's design draws inspiration from the natural forms of the surrounding Moreton Bay coastline. Softly undulating curves give the facade its coastal character, while feature battens add depth and detail.

"Even though we're downsizing, our lifestyle will expand. Lighthouse gives us everything we want, and knowing it's the last waterfront location for this type of project convinced us even more."

Kerry and Graham have called Newport home for almost two decades. When the opportunity came to downsize while staying in the area they love, they took it.

"The opportunity of living on the water in a home that we could lock the door and travel was something we were very keen to do," Kerry says.

A visit to friends living in Lasail Newport, also by Traders In Purple, gave them confidence to make the change. "Our friends' unit and lifestyle is just magical," Kerry says.

Travis Gao’s work as a Senior Contracts Administrator means having a keen eye for detail, to ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial and contractual plans.

“One of my proudest achievements when faced with a problem is finding an alternate solution which is more cost effective, time efficient and delivers better outcomes for end-users,” he says.

Travis says building good relationships with the on-site team is also key to success.

“The people on site, foremen, trades, supervisors, know things that no contract document will tell you. You’ve got to be humble and stay curious. The day you think you know everything is the day you start making mistakes.”
