Nearly halfway through 2026, and I find myself feeling genuinely grateful.

Grateful for every client who picked up the phone and trusted me with something that mattered to them. Grateful for the team around me who show up every day with the same care and commitment that this business was built on. And grateful for a community that continues to support what we are trying to do here.

Building a team of people who genuinely care, who show up for clients the same way you would yourself, that is something else entirely. One of the most common questions I get asked is whether you need to sell before you can buy.
The short answer is, not necessarily. But it does require careful planning, the right advice early, and someone coordinating the moving parts on your behalf.

The simultaneous sell and buy process is something I have guided a lot of clients through over the years. When it is handled well, it is one of the most seamless transitions a family can make. When it is not, it becomes one of the most stressful.

The difference almost always comes down to preparation, knowing your numbers, having your finances sorted before you list, and making sure your contracts are aligned from the start.

Early in my career I spent a lot of energy trying to fit a mould that was never really made for me.

The way I was told to prospect. The way I was told to negotiate. The way I was told to present myself and my value. I followed the script because that was what you did.

It took me a while to realise that the script wasn't working, not because I wasn't capable, but because it wasn't honest. And in this industry, people feel that.

The moment I stopped trying to do real estate the way everyone else said I should, and started doing it the way I actually believed in, everything changed. The clients I attracted. The results I achieved. The way I felt at the end of every day.

Turns out the best version of this job looks a lot like just being yourself.
