A few photos of this week’s project. New balustrade, steps and tiles on landing. New fences and some screening to match. We also did some exposed paths and driveway extension among other things.

We were called into repair the main bearer holding up the top balcony on 5 units. The bearer was the wrong LVL for the job, with a waterproofing job that was totally inadequate for the situation the bearer rotted out.
After removing tile from the top balconies and the gyprock from the ceiling of the lower balconies we redid the waterproofing, designed and had made a new metal facia to guide water well away from the lower balconies. Replaced the LVL with the correct exterior grade beam. Re tiled the top and installed new gyprock and paint to the lower balconies. It was quite a detailed job and we had to work with 5 different residents in difficult conditions.
We have a very satisfied client and 5 very happy residents who can now use their balconies again after a very long wait.

We were asked to come and fix up a double pier that had settled rather dangerously over quite a few years. The gates weren’t able to be used and a fencing contractor had attached an aluminium fence to the leaning pier, this only emphasised the problem.
We got a service locator in to check for any buried services. Once cleared for digging we excavated down the side of the pier then under th footing, then with some bracing and packing we jacked the pier up, added reo bar and filled under the existing footing with concrete down to solid sub grade. Backfill the side, fixed the previous adjustments made to the gates over time so everything was operational again. Realigned the side fence brackets and put the panel back in place. A small job but technical and difficult to carry out.

A deck renovation included new joists, several posts, most of the handrails and balustrade and all the decking, then painting and staining.
